Vestas Receives 310 MW Order in Kenya

Vestas has received a firm and unconditional order for 365 V52-850 kW turbines for Kenya from Lake Turkana Wind Power Ltd. Supply, installation, and commissioning of the wind turbines as well as a 15-year service agreement (AOM 4000). Installation of the wind turbines is expected to begin in the first half of 2016 and the wind power plant is expected to be commissioned in the second half of 2017.

Vestas Wind Systems A/S Wins Turbine Order from Grupo Cobra for Larimar Plant in Enriquillo

Vestas Wind Systems A/S has received an order from Grupo Cobra to supply 15 V112-3.3MW turbines for the 49.5MW Larimar wind power plant in Enriquillo, Dominican Republic. The 15 wind turbines for this supply-only contract are expected to be delivered in the second quarter of 2015 and commissioned by the first quarter of 2016. Once installed, the Larimar wind power plant will produce approximately 227,000 MWh per year, providing green energy to more than 62,000 people in the Dominican Republic.

Vestas Wind Systems Settles Class Action Lawsuit

A US court approved Vestas Wind Systems plan to settle a class action lawsuit over alleged securities fraud by paying USD 5 million to the plaintiffs. The payment will be distributed in cash and will be fully covered by the wind turbine maker's insurer. The settlement, which was given the green light by the US District Court, will be finalized 30 days after the approval, unless it is appealed. Vestas denied all allegations in the lawsuit, saying that its disclosures to the public were appropriate at all times. The company noted it was willing to settle the case so that it can no longer pay continued litigation costs.
