Viasystems Group, Inc. provides multi-layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electro-mechanical solutions worldwide. The company operates in two segments, Printed Circuit Boards and Assembly. Its PCBs products serve as the foundation for electronic equipment, providing circuitry and mounting surfaces to interconnect discrete electronic components, such as integrated circuits, capacitors, and resistors. The company’s electro-mechanical solutions comprise various products and services, which primarily include assembly of backplanes, assembly of PCBs, fabrication of custom and standard metal enclosures, cabinets, racks, sub-racks, and bus bars; systems integration; final assembly; and product testing and fulfillment. Its products are used in various commercial products, including automotive engine controls, hybrid converters, automotive electronics for navigation, safety and entertainment, telecommunications switching equipment, data networking equipment, computer storage equipment, semiconductor test equipment, wind and solar energy applications, off-shore drilling equipment, communications applications, and flight control systems, as well as industrial, medical, and other technical instruments. The company also offers a range of manufacturing services consisting of design and prototyping, PCB and backpanel fabrication, PCB assembly, backpanel assembly, custom metal enclosure fabrication, full system assembly and test, packaging and global distribution, after-sales support, and supply chain management. Viasystems Group, Inc. markets its products and services to original equipment manufacturers and contract electronic manufacturers through its own sales and marketing organization, as well as through relationships with independent sales agents. The company was formerly known as Circo Technologies, Inc. and changed its name to Viasystems Group, Inc. in January 1997. Viasystems Group, Inc. was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

Viasystems Group, Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported revenue was $272.94 million against $262.09 million a year ago. The year-over-year increase of 4.1% in sales was primarily the result of the company's acquisition of DDi Corp. on May 31, 2012. Operating income was $2.55 million against $5.16 million a year ago. Loss before income taxes was $10.12 million against $2.92 million a year ago. Net loss attributable to common stockholders was $13.45 million against $4.64 million a year ago. Diluted loss per share was $0.67 against $0.23 a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $29.13 million against $10.26 million a year ago. Capital expenditure was $20.25 million against $22.37 million a year ago. Out of CapEx about $11 million is related to recurring or maintenance projects and the remaining $9 million related to special projects, such as factory relocations and replacement of the fire-damaged equipment in Guangzhou factory. Adjusted EBITDA was $29.5 million against $33.1 million a year ago. Adjusted net loss attributable to common stockholders was $7.79 million or $0.39 loss per share against income of $6.49 million or $0.32 income per share a year ago.
