Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. operates a four season mountain resort in Canada. It provides summer season activities, including sightseeing, hiking, glacier skiing, mountain biking, and summer glacier skiing; zip trekking, mini golf, alpine sliding, wall climbing, horseback riding, ATV tours, and a host of other activities; non-ski season activities comprising golf, hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, rafting, kayaking, swimming, children activities, and various festivals; and winter season activities comprising snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and skating. The company also provides various private and group ski and snowboard lessons; and a range of dining choices consisting of restaurants, bars, cafés, warming huts, cafeterias, and upscale dining options. In addition, it offers owns and operates 18 retail outlets that sell ski accessories, such as goggles, sunglasses, hats, and gloves; hard goods, such as skis, snowboards, and boots; and other soft goods, such as jackets and snowsuits, mountain bikes, and related gear, as well as operates 18 restaurants and bars. Further, the company’s other resort operations include various supporting businesses, which consist of guided heli-skiing day trips, lodging management for approximately 250 condo hotel units, employee housing, activities, resort reservation, and event management. Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. was founded in 1966 and is based in Whistler, Canada.

Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, net loss was $10.251 million compared to $12.274 million for the same period a year ago. EBITDA was $2.368 million compared to $1.177 million for the same period a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $2.375 million compared to $1.926 million for the same period a year ago. The increase in Adjusted EBITDA was driven primarily by higher revenue compared to the prior periods, offset in part by higher operating costs. Revenue was $34.510 million compared to $29.740 million for the same period a year ago. The increases in total Revenues were driven by higher revenue per visit, attributable to improved effective ticket price, pricing and guest spending patterns in the Company's ancillary businesses. The loss per share was reduced primarily by increased EBITDA and lower interest expense on long term debt, which decreased by $2.1 million or 51% as a result of the company's refinancing in November 2013. Loss from operations was $8.2 million against $8.1 million for the same period a year ago. Net loss before income tax was $12.4 million against $14.9 million for the same period a year ago. Net loss attributable to the Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. shareholders was $5.6 million or $0.15 per basic and diluted share against $7.3 million or $0.19 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. The loss per share was reduced primarily by increased EBITDA and lower interest expense on long term debt, which decreased by $2.1 million or 51% as a result of the Company's refinancing in November 2013. For the nine months, net earnings were $29.473 million compared to $28.181 million for the same period a year ago. EBITDA was $91.940 million compared to $85.153 million for the same period a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $90.483 million compared to $85.902 million for the same period a year ago. Revenue was $223.159 million compared to $212.219 million for the same period a year ago. The increases in total Revenues were driven by higher revenue per visit, attributable to improved effective ticket price, pricing and guest spending patterns in the company's ancillary businesses. Higher visits for the third quarter also contributed to revenue growth while higher revenue per visit for the year to date period was partially offset by lower skier visits as a result of challenging early season snow conditions. The increase in Adjusted EBITDA was driven primarily by higher revenue compared to the prior periods, offset in part by higher operating costs. Earnings from operations was $59.3 million against $55.1 million for the same period a year ago. Net earnings before income tax was $38.4 million against $36.2 million for the same period a year ago. Net earnings attributable to the Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. shareholders was $5.6 million or $0.63 per basic and diluted share against $4.9 million or $0.61 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. Net cash provided by operations was $92.5 million against $86.5 million for the same period a year ago.
