Windstream Holdings, Inc. provides communications and technology solutions in the United States. The company offers managed services and cloud computing services to businesses, as well as broadband, voice, and video services to consumers primarily in rural markets. Its primary business service offerings include integrated voice and data services, multi-site networking, data center services, managed services, high-speed Internet, voice services, and carrier services. The company also sells and leases communications equipment systems customized to business customers’ needs, as well as offers maintenance plans to support these systems. In addition, it provides consumer broadband services consisting of high-speed Internet access, Internet security services, and online backup services; and consumer voice services consisting of basic local telephone services, long-distance services, and features, including call waiting, caller identification, call forwarding, and others. Further, the company offers consumer video services; owns and operates cable television franchises; and provides switched access services to long-distance companies and other local exchange carriers for access to network. Additionally, it sells home phones to support voice services, as well as equipment to support high-speed Internet and voice offerings, including broadband modems, home networking gateways, and personal computers. As of December 31, 2013, the company operated a network of approximately 118,000 of fiber optic plant in fiber backbone and local service areas, as well as 26 data centers. Windstream Holdings, Inc. is based in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Windstream Holdings, Inc. Announces Management Changes

Windstream President and CEO Tony Thomas announced that Bob Gunderman has been named chief financial officer for the company, effective immediately. Gunderman has been serving as interim CFO since Oct. 1, 2014. He will retain his current treasury duties while the company conducts a search for a permanent treasurer. Thomas also announced three executive appointments to align focus on key business segments and create a stronger organizational foundation at Windstream. David Works, executive vice president and chief human resources officer, has been named president of enterprise. David Redmond, president of consumer, has been named president of consumer and small and medium business. Mike Shippey, senior vice president of carrier solutions, has been named president of carrier. The presidents will have responsibility for sales, marketing, service delivery and customer care within their respective segments.

Windstream Holdings, Inc. Announces Management Changes

Windstream Holdings, Inc. announced that Tony Thomas has been appointed president and chief executive officer and a director of company, effective immediately. Thomas succeeds Jeff Gardner, the company's current president and CEO, who will stay on as senior adviser to the CEO and as a member of the board of directors through Feb. 1, 2015, to ensure an orderly transition. Thomas has principally served as company's chief financial officer over the past eight years and most recently as the company's president of real estate investment trust operations. Thomas joined Windstream as controller following the spinoff from Alltel Corp. Windstream Director Francis X. 'Skip' Frantz will lead the process to select a new president and CEO of the REIT. As previously announced, Frantz will serve as chairman of the REIT's Board. He will leave the Windstream Board upon close of the transaction, which is anticipated to occur in the first half of 2015.
