Workspace Group PLC, a real estate investment trust (REIT), engages in property investment in the form of letting of business accommodation to small and medium sized enterprises in London and the South East of England. It offers space for serviced offices, offices, studios, workshops, and light industrial units. The company owns 100 estates, comprising approximately 5.77 million square feet, and provides accommodation for 4,000 small businesses in London and the South East. It has a joint venture with Workspace Glebe Limited, which engages in property investment. The company has elected to be treated as a REIT for federal income tax purposes and would not be subject to income tax, if it distributes at least 90 % of its REIT taxable income to its share holders. Workspace Group PLC, formerly known as London Industrial PLC, was founded in 1987 and is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom.

Workspace Group PLC Secures Planning Permission for its Redevelopment of Enterprise House in Hayes

Workspace Group PLC announced that it has secured planning permission for its redevelopment of Enterprise House in Hayes, a 50/50 joint venture with Polar Properties. The development will provide 98 apartments and a 38,000 sq ft Business Centre for creative industries. Permission will enable Workspace and its joint venture partner, Polar Properties to create 150 jobs by providing new business space. Workspace plans to refurbish the grade II* listed factory building which will provide 38,000 sq ft of space tailored to the needs of small businesses with a particular focus on creative industries. One of the existing tenants to be retained will be the Vinyl Factory which specialise in producing high quality, limited edition, vinyl records.

Workspace Group plc announced the retirement of Bernard Cragg as Non-Executive Director, Chairman of the Audit Committee and Senior Non-Executive Independent Director with immediate effect. Chris Girling succeeds him as Chairman of the Audit Committee and Senior Independent Non-Executive Director. The Board announced the appointment of Mr. Stephen Hubbard as a Non-Executive Director of the company. His appointment will become effective on 16 July 2014. Stephen is currently Chairman of CBRE UK. He is also Chairman of London Business Network and a member of the Advisory Board for Redevco which is a pan European property holding company.

Workspace Group PLC announced operating results for the quarter ended June 30, 2014. The company reported total rent roll of GBP 61.0 million up 4.6% (GBP 2.7 million) in the quarter and up 14.9% (GBP 7.9 million) over the last twelve months from 30 June 2013. Like-for-like rent roll up 3.3% (GBP 1.3 million) in the quarter to GBP 41.1 million and up by 10.8% (GBP 4.0 million) over the last twelve months from 30 June 2013. Like-for-like occupancy at 90.6%, up 0.6% in the quarter with rent per sq.ft up 2.5% in the quarter to GBP 14.96.
