Weis Markets, Inc. it has appointed Gretchen Suydan as its new director of marketing. Suydan most recently was director of marketing and advertising for Farm Fresh, the Supervalu division in Virginia Beach, Va. At Weis, Suydan assumes responsibility for the planning, development and implementation of go-to-market strategies designed to grow sales, increase new customer acquisition, and drive customer retention. She reports to Brian Holt, vice president, advertising, marketing and public relations. The company also said it has promoted Brian Bosworth to sales director and Maria Panko to private brands manager.
