Wolseley plc distributes plumbing and heating products, and building materials primarily to professional contractors in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Nordic countries, France, and Central Europe. The company supplies plumbing, heating, and air conditioning products comprising baths, showers, and accessories; sanitary ware; brassware; bathroom furniture; boilers and burners; radiators and valves; hot water cylinders and flues; control equipment; heating and cooling equipment; solar equipment; plastic pipes and fittings; and copper tubing and fittings. It also distributes building materials, including insulation; plaster and plasterboard; roofing materials; bricks, blocks, and aggregates; tiles and flooring; timber products; doors and frames; beams, trusses, and frames; hardware and tools; and work wear. In addition, the company supplies civils/waterworks, industrial, and commercial products, such as drainage pipes, associated supplies, and covers; underground pressure pipes; small bore pressure pipes and fittings; carbon and stainless steel pipes, valves, and fittings; and other pipes, valves, and fittings. Further, it provides services comprising installation, maintenance, and management of customer inventory; and supplies fire protection systems. The company operates a network of 2,917 branches in 11 countries. Wolseley plc was founded in 1887 and is headquartered in Zug, Switzerland.

Wolseley plc Announces Management Changes Effective November 2014

The Board of Wolseley plc announced that Michael Wareing will be standing down at the next Annual General Meeting as a Non Executive Director of Wolseley plc after more than five years' service on the Board. Accordingly, with effect from 25 November 2014 he will also step down as Chairman of the Audit Committee, a position he has held since his appointment to the Board in 2009. In November 2014, Michael will be succeeded as Chairman of the Audit Committee by Darren Shapland, who joined the Board in May 2014.

Wolseley plc Reports Earnings Results for the Third Quarter Ended April 30, 2014; Provides Revenue Guidance for the Next Six Months

Wolseley plc reported earnings results for the third quarter ended April 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue was £3,115 million against £3,229 million a year ago. Trading profit was £153 million against £150 million a year ago. Net debt was £914 million against £694 million a year ago. CapEx in the quarter was £48 million, in line with its guidance. The company expects that the Group's like-for-like revenue growth rate for the next six months to be about 4%.

Wolseley plc Announces Management Changes

Wolseley plc appointed John Daly and Jacky Simmonds as Non-Executive Directors effective May 21, 2014. John Daly has over three decades of business and management experience, including the last 14 years with British American Tobacco Plc (BAT) in a variety of senior leadership roles running large international businesses. He recently stepped down as Chief Operating Officer of BAT a position he held for 3 years, although he remains a Non Executive Director of Reynolds American Inc. Jacky Simmonds is a highly experienced HR professional in the international retail and leisure industry. She is currently Group HR Director of TUI Travel plc, a role she has held since 2010. From July 2014 she will also chair the Remuneration Committee, at which point Alan Murray will step down as its Chairman. Alan will continue to be Wolseley's Senior Independent Director.
