W. P. Carey Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $52,386,000 against $40,651,000 a year ago. Net income was $66,972,000 against $45,816,000 a year ago. Net Income Attributable to W. P. Carey was $64,739,000 against $43,167,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings Per Share Income from continuing operations attributable to W. P. Carey was $0.38 against $0.56 a year ago. Net Income Attributable to W. P. Carey $0.64 against $0.62 a year ago. AFFO was $122.2 million, equivalent to $1.21 per diluted share. For the six months ended, Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $164,169,000 against $57,958,000 a year ago. Net income was $182,987,000 against $61,655,000 a year ago. Net Income Attributable to W. P. Carey was $178,915,000 against $57,348,000 a year ago. Diluted earnings Per Share Income from continuing operations attributable to W. P. Carey was $1.52 against $0.80 a year ago. Net Income Attributable to W. P. Carey $1.86 against $0.81 a year ago. For the quarter impairment charges were $2,066,000. The company has raised its 2014 full year AFFO guidance range to $4.62 to $4.82 per diluted share, up from its previously announced range of $4.40 to $4.65 per diluted share, based on assumed full year 2014 total acquisition volume of approximately $1.9 billion to $2.6 billion, including approximately $1.4 billion to $2.0 billion on behalf of the Managed REITs.

W.P. Carey Buys 515,000 Square Foot Distribution Center, Plans Expansion for Total $45 Million Investment

W.P. Carey said it has acquired a 515,000 square foot distribution center leased to retailer Belk and plans to expand it by 346,000 square feet for a total transaction value of $45 million. The center was acquired from an affiliate of Panattoni Development Co. The expansion is expected to be completed in January 2015.
