The company also provides its services to aerospace clients, including aircraft manufacturers, air cargo handlers and shippers, airport managers, and other general aviation companies; and advisory services, such as claims recovery, contract and leasing risk management, safety services, and market information. In addition, it offers brokerage for directors' and officers' insurance, as well as professional indemnity insurance for corporations, financial institutions, and professional firms; risk management advice and brokerage services to the construction industry; and specialist risk management, insurance, and reinsurance services to fine art, diamond, and jewelry businesses, as well as to armored car operators. Further, the company provides people risk solutions using a combination of risk management, kidnap and ransom, and personal accident services and products to meet the needs of corporations and private clients; services for horse racing and breeding industry, and the agri-business sector; and advice to companies involved in the insurance and reinsurance industry on mergers and acquisition transactions and capital markets products. Additionally, it offers health, welfare, and human resources consulting and brokerage services to commercial clients. The company serves clients located in approximately 120 countries, including multinational and middle-market companies, as well as public institutions and individual clients. Willis Group Holdings Public Limited Company was founded in 1828 and is based in London, the United Kingdom.

Willis Group Appoints David Martin as Global Leader of Placement

Willis Group announced the appointment of David Martin to the newly-created role of Global Leader of Placement. Martin, who has most recently served as CEO of Willis Insurance UK, will now lead Willis' insurance placement activity worldwide. In this role, he will work closely with the firm's global network of placement leaders, including Gianmarco Tosti, the newly-appointed Head of Placement for Willis International, Matt Keeping, Head of Placement for Willis North America, Seth Peller, Global Head of Casualty, Gerry Tollan, Chief Growth Officer - Specialty, and David Thomas, CEO of Market Services and Solutions. Martin will also oversee the development of Willis' proprietary global placing system, WillPLACE. Before joining Willis in January 2013, Martin held senior roles at Zurich and AON. Willis Group Holdings has appointed Bill Froggatt to lead a political and trade credit risks practice in Melbourne, Australia. Froggatt will report into the Financial Solutions Asia Pacific operation, which is headquartered in Singapore. Froggatt joins Willis from the banking sector where, over the past 30 years, he has held various senior positions including Head of Trade Finance (EMEA) for Mizuho Corporate Bank Limited, the Global Head of Commodity Trade & Transaction Services for ANZ Banking Group, and most recently the Head of Northern Hemisphere Trade for the Westpac Banking Corporation. Over the past five years the Australian loan market has accounted for roughly a third of total Asia Pacific loan volumes (excluding Japan), ranking higher (by loan volume) than Hong Kong, India, China and Singapore.

Willis Group Holdings plc Announces Executive Changes

Willis Group Holdings plc announced the appointment of Anne Pullum as Director of Corporate Development to succeed Simon Gaffney, who becomes Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Willis Global. Ms. Pullum will play a key role in determining the group's strategy, working across a number of key functions. She joins Willis from McKinsey & Company, where she was an Engagement Manager serving financial services and natural resources clients. Previously, Ms. Pullum held strategic and analyst roles at Greenspan Associates and Goldman Sachs. In his new role, Simon Gaffney will lead the operations function of Willis Global, which encompasses Willis's reinsurance, specialty insurance and risk consulting businesses. Mr. Gaffney will report to Steve Hearn, Chairman and CEO of Willis Global and Deputy CEO of the Willis Group. Mr. Gaffney also joins the board of Willis Limited, the Willis Group's principal UK regulated entity, as COO and as a Director. Mr. Gaffney joined Willis in 2000, when Willis acquired the risk information research and technology firm W.I.R.E. Ltd. Since then he has served in a number of corporate roles encompassing planning and analysis, strategy, ecommerce and technology and business transformation.
