Cimarex Energy Co. reported unaudited consolidated earnings and production results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenues were $636,669,000 compared to $493,757,000 a year ago. Operating income was $240,418,000 compared to $204,148,000 a year ago. Income before income tax was $236,398,000 compared to $206,181,000 a year ago. Net income was $148,640,000 or $1.70 diluted per share compared to $129,565,000 or $1.49 diluted per share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $421,745,000 compared to $322,708,000 a year ago. Oil and gas expenditures were $718,740,000 compared to $385,469,000 a year ago. For the six months, revenues were $1,235,885,000 compared to $920,113,000 a year ago. Operating income was $460,417,000 compared to $348,646,000 a year ago. Income before income tax was $456,600,000 compared to $349,284,000 a year ago. Net income was $287,097,000 or $3.29 diluted per share compared to $219,492,000 or $2.53 diluted per share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $769,769,000 compared to $569,786,000 a year ago. Oil and gas expenditures were $1,138,539,000 compared to $776,138,000 a year ago. Production volumes averaged 839 million cubic feet equivalent (MMcfe) per day in the quarter, a 22% increase over second quarter 2013 output of 687 MMcfe per day. Oil production grew 13% over the same period last year to 41,759 barrels per day. Permian oil volumes were 33,317 barrels per day. Natural gas production increased 20% over last year to 410 MMcf per day. Cimarex reported NGL volumes of 29,680 barrels per day up 43% from 2013 levels as a result of more Permian Basin gas being fully processed. Second quarter 2014 production volumes were 49% natural gas, 30% oil and 21% NGL. For the six months, total gas production was 69,291 million Mcf against 61,006 million Mcf a year ago. Total oil production was 7,325,227 barrels against 6,339,760 barrels a year ago. Total NGL production was 4,953,394 barrels against 3,824,763 barrels a year ago. The company provided production guidance for the third quarter and full year of 2014. Third quarter 2014 volumes are projected to average 920-945 MMcfe per day. The company estimates 2014 production to average 860-875 MMcfe per day, a mid-point increase of 25% over 2013. Oil volumes are projected to grow 22-25% year-over-year.
