XL GROUP Public Limited Company, an insurance and reinsurance company, through its subsidiaries, provides property, casualty, and specialty products to industrial, commercial, and professional firms; and insurance companies and other enterprises worldwide. The company operates in three segments: Insurance, Reinsurance, and Life Operations. The Insurance segment offers property, primary and excess casualty, environmental liability, excess and surplus lines, construction, and surety insurance products, as well as property and casualty coverages. It also provides professional lines, such as directors’ and officers’ liability, errors and omissions liability, employment practices liability, and technology and cyber liability coverages; and specialty lines, including aviation and satellite, marine and offshore energy, fine art and specie, equine, product recall, political violence, political risk and trade credit, and North America inland marine insurance products. This segment also offers risk management solutions; and underwrites and prices various risks individually. The Reinsurance segment provides casualty, property risk, property catastrophe, marine, aviation, treaty, energy, marine, aviation, space, engineering, fidelity, surety, trade credit, and political risk products; and underwriting services. The Life Operations segment offers life reinsurance on business written by life insurance companies to facilitate them to manage mortality, morbidity, survivorship, investment, and lapse risks. The company markets its products and services through international, national, and regional producers, acting as the brokers and representatives of policyholders; and through general agents and independent agents acting on behalf of the company. XL GROUP Public Limited Company was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland.

XL Group's Cyber and Technology Business Adds Three Underwriters

To address the growing demand for cyber insurance, XL Group's Cyber and Technology business has added three underwriters, Sean Donahue, Elissa Doroff and Richard Schulz, to its New York-based team. Mr. Donahue joins XL Group from Dewitt Stern Group where he most recently served as vice president and director of information technology. During his tenure at Dewitt, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the company's technology infrastructure which included the company's information security program. Sean brings to the team over a decade of risk mitigation experience in network security. He currently holds a CISSP designation and is a trained certified ethical hacker. Ms. Doroff brings nearly a decade of cyber and technology insurance expertise having worked as claims counsel at AG and, most recently, as broker of cyber insurance at Marsh and McLennan where she held the position of Senior Advisory Specialist. While at Marsh, she counseled public and private clients on their risks and insurance needs in the areas of technology, privacy and cyber. She has considerable experience presenting these topics on panels and seminars for clients and industry associations and she has published many industry related articles.

XL Group Appoints Richard Jinks as New Manager of Facilities Centre of Excellence

XL Group Plc has appointed Richard Jinks to manage its Facilities Centre of Excellence. Richard will lead International Property and Casualty's Facilities Centre of Excellence in order to provide the highest standards of best practice and guidance to underwriters and support staff. In his new role as Facilities Centre of Excellence Manager, Richard will be responsible for establishing the Centre initially for XL Group's International Property and Casualty business unit but will also provide support to other business units within XL as needed. In the first instance, the focus will be UK Facilities but once established, it will be expanded to the company's other international markets.

XL Group Announces Management Changes

XL Group appointed Michael Garceau as its new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Chris Dougherty who now assumes the newly created position of Executive Vice President, Underwriting and Ceded Re. Mr. Garceau is promoted to the CFO position from his previous position as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of XL Group's North America Property & Casualty business. In his new role, Mr. Dougherty will continue to report to Greg Hendrick, chief executive of XL Group's global insurance operations. Having served as CFO of XL Group's global insurance operations since 2012, Mr. Dougherty is establishing a new position which brings together XL Group's Business Development, Underwriting Standards and Ceded Re functions under his leadership. As CFO, Mr. Garceau will lead all aspects of finance including strategic planning and analysis, quarterly results, budgeting, reforecasting, expense management and financial reporting across XL Group's global insurance segment. He now reports to Mr. Hendrick as well as to Pete Porrino, XL Group plc's CFO.
