Crosstex Energy, Inc., through its partnership interests in Crosstex Energy, L.P., engages in the gathering, transmission, processing, and marketing of natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs), and crude oil in the United States. The company connects the wells of natural gas producers in its market areas to its gathering systems; processes natural gas for the removal of NGLs; fractionates NGLs; and markets and transports natural gas and NGLs. It also purchases natural gas from natural gas producers and other supply sources; and sells that natural gas to utilities, industrial consumers, other marketers, and pipelines, as well as provides crude oil, condensate, and brine water services to producers. In addition, the company operates processing plants that process gas transported to the plants by interstate pipelines or from its gathering systems. Further, it purchases natural gas from producers not connected to its gathering systems for resale, as well as sells natural gas on behalf of producers; and through its crude oil terminal facilities in south Louisiana provides access for crude oil producers. As of March 6, 2013, the company operated approximately 3,500 miles of natural gas, NGLs, and oil pipelines, 10 natural gas processing plants, and 10 fractionators, as well as barge and rail terminals, product storage facilities, brine water disposal wells, and truck fleet. Crosstex Energy, Inc. was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas.

On May 8, 2013, Crosstex Energy Inc. and XTXI Capital, LLC entered into a First Amendment to Credit Agreement which amended that certain Credit Agreement, dated as of March 5, 2013 by and among Subsidiary Borrower, Citibank, N.A., as Administrative Agent, Collateral Agent and a Lender, and the other lenders party thereto. The Subsidiary Credit Agreement Amendment amends the Subsidiary Credit Agreement to increase the amount Subsidiary Borrower is permitted to borrow on a revolving credit basis thereunder from $75.0 million to up to $90.0 million. Subsidiary Borrower intends to distribute the proceeds from the Amended Subsidiary Credit Agreement to the Company to finance the Company's investment in new natural gas compression and condensate stabilization facilities that will provide services for producers in the Utica Shale play, including the new E2 Investment.
