Xylem Inc. announced that it has been awarded a $2.9 million contract from the Beijing Drainage Group (BDG) to install Xylem's Flygt(R) pumps in 19 pumping stations in downtown Beijing. The new Flygt submersible centrifugal sewage pumps will improve the stations' water storage capability and prevent overflow by providing more efficient drainage and flood control.

Xylem Inc. announced the election of Jerome A. Peribere, president and chief executive officer of Sealed Air Corporation and James P. Rogers, chairman and chief executive officer of Eastman Chemical Company to Xylem's board of directors. Both appointments are effective immediately. Peribere joined Sealed Air in September 2012 as president and chief operating officer and was appointed to his current post in March 2013. Rogers was appointed to his current position in January 2011.

Xylem Inc. announced that on May 8, 2013, the Board approved an amendment to the company’s By-laws effective on such date, to provide that the Board may from time to time elect one or more Corporate Vice Presidents, to serve at the pleasure of the Board or otherwise as shall be specified by the Board at the time of such election and until their successors are elected and qualified or until their earlier death, retirement, resignation or removal.
