Yara International ASA, a chemical company, engages in the manufacture and sale of agricultural and environmental solutions worldwide. It operates through three segments: Upstream, Downstream, and Industrial. The company produces ammonia, urea, nitrates, and other nitrogen-based products, as well as phosphoric acid and feed phosphates. It also offers chemical products and CO2 to non-fertilizer market segments; dry ice; solutions for NOx abatement, odor control, water treatment, and corrosion prevention; animal feed minerals, feed acidifiers, and other products; and nitrogen chemicals, including ammonia-derived products for use in the environmental and civil explosives applications. In addition, the company offers a fertilizer portfolio to growers, as well as provides knowledge and tools to secure the right nutrients, and optimize application and yield with minimal environmental impact; specialty chemicals; and electronics chemicals. Yara International ASA was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Yara International ASA is postponing the planned expansion project at its production plant in Belle Plaine, Canada. Yara views the Belle Plaine site as an optimal location for a future North American nitrogen expansion, but will spend more time evaluating construction cost development and other key project parameters. The Yara Belle Plaine facility has a current production capacity of 0.7 million tons ammonia and 1.2 million tons urea and urea ammonium nitrate per annum. The planned expansion project comprises an integrated world scale ammonia and urea line with a urea capacity of approximately 1.3 million tons per annum.

The Yara International ASA at the annual general meeting held on May 13, 2013 approved a dividend of NOK 13.00 per share. Geir Isaksen was elected as a new Board member for a period of one year.
