The company was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Yara International ASA Expands Capacity in Koping, Sweden

The board of Yara International ASA has approved an investment of SEK 1,747 million (USD 220 million) to sustain and increase technical ammonium nitrate (TAN) capacity in the Koping site in Sweden. The investment includes the construction of a new nitric acid plant replacing an existing plant which is approaching the end of its operating life. The total TAN capacity after the upgrade will reach about 450 kt per annum. The new plant will be based on the technology, improving energy efficiency and further reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the Koping plant. Construction will start in 2015, with completion expected in second half 2017.

Yara International ASA Announces Consolidated Production and Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended September 30, 2014

Yara International ASA announced consolidated production and earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, revenue was NOK 24,029 million against NOK 20,465 million a year ago. Operating income was NOK 2,501 million against NOK 2,022 million a year ago. Earnings before interest expense and tax (EBIT) were NOK 2,759 million against NOK 2,392 million a year ago. Income before tax was NOK 2,003 million against NOK 2,084 million a year ago. Net income attributable to shareholders of the parent was NOK 1,707 million against NOK 1,571 million a year ago. Earnings per share were NOK 6.18 against NOK 5.66 a year ago. EBITDA was NOK 3,964 million against NOK 3,318 million a year ago. Net cash from operating activities was NOK 980 million against NOK 3,963 million a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment was NOK 1,743 million against NOK 1,393 million a year ago. The underlying earnings per share is NOK 7.62 per share, which is up NOK 2 per share from last year. Net interest-bearing debt ended at NOK 4,963 million in the third quarter, compared with NOK 3,347 million at the end of second quarter 2014. For the nine months, revenue was NOK 69,057 million against NOK 64,199 million a year go. Operating income was NOK 7,618 million against NOK 7,490 million a year ago. Earnings before interest expense and tax (EBIT) were NOK 8,518 million against NOK 8,907 million a year ago. Income before tax was NOK 7,505 million against NOK 7,573 million a year ago. Net income attributable to shareholders of the parent was NOK 5,765 million against NOK 5,695 million a year ago. Earnings per share were NOK 20.84 against NOK 20.40 a year ago. EBITDA was NOK 11,782 million against NOK 11,541 million a year ago. Net cash from operating activities was NOK 6,954 million against NOK 10,318 million a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment was NOK 4,696 million against NOK 3,399 million a year ago. For the quarter, total production was 6,763,000 tons against 6,668,000 tons a year ago. For the nine months, total production was 19,447,000 tons against 19,387,000 tons a year ago.
