Yara International ASA provides industrial, environmental, and agricultural products in Norway and internationally. The company operates through three segments: Downstream, Industrial, and Upstream. It produces ammonia, urea, nitrates, and other nitrogen-based products, as well as phosphoric acid and feed phosphates. The company also offers nitrogen chemicals, including ammonia-derived products; and industrial explosives for non-fertilizer market segments, as well as provides dry ice and specialty chemicals. In addition, it offers solutions for NOx abatement, odor control, water treatment, and corrosion prevention; and fertilizer and crop nutrition programs. The company was founded in 1905 and is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Yara International Announces Management Changes, Effective February 2015

The Board of Directors of Yara International announced the appointment of Mr. Svein Richard Brandtzaeg as the company's new President and Chief Executive Officer. He will succeed Jorgen Ole Haslestad by February 2015. Mr. Brandtzaeg currently serves as President and CEO of Norsk Hydro ASA, a position he has held since 2009. Brandtzaeg will take on his new position at the latest February 1, 2015.

Yara International ASA announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and first half ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of NOK 23,264 million against NOK 23,117 million a year ago. Operating income was NOK 2,849 million against NOK 2,651 million a year ago. Income before tax was NOK 3,095 million against NOK 2,525 million a year ago. Net income attributable to shareholders of the parent was NOK 2,285 million against NOK 1,867 million a year ago. Earnings per share were NOK 8.26 against NOK 6.69 a year ago. Net cash from operating activities was NOK 3,579 million against NOK 2,338 million a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment was NOK 1,531 million against NOK 1,106 million a year ago. For the six months, the company reported revenue of NOK 45,027 million against NOK 43,735 million a year ago. Operating income was NOK 5,117 million against NOK 5,469 million a year ago.
