Yamaha Motor Opens Motorcycle Plant in Argentina

Yamaha Motor Argentina has opened its new motorcycle manufacturing plant in General Rodriguez, located in the urban area of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The new plant, which is now in operation, was built for the purpose of expanding sales in the Argentine motorcycle market, and is located approximately 20km west from the old plant. On a site of approximately 100,000m2, the new plant has a floor space of 16,520m2. At the time of launch, the new plant will employ approximately 300 personnel, and will run at an annual production capacity of 150,000 units. Productions of 6 models that are sold in Argentina - Crypton, YBR125, XTZ125E, FZ16, YBR250, and XTZ250 - are to be transferred from the old factory.

Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. to Release New FZ and FZ-S in India

Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. has announced that it will release the new FZ and FZ-S, a FZ sports series powered by an air-cooled 150cc engine, in the Indian market in July 2014. The new FZ and FZ-S are successors to the existing FZ16 and FZ-S, and were developed with the concept - a fusion of improved fuel economy, performance, and sharp styling. As compared to the standard model FZ, the FZ-S is also equipped with a meter visor for a sportier look. Main features include: a newly developed 150cc fuel-injected engine that achieves 14% improvement in fuel economy over the existing model while offering excellent acceleration performance; newly-developed lightweight frame and tires that provide lighter handling; body design that combines a sense of power, boldness, and sharp lines; a movable rear fender with an integrated sari guard for more agile styling. Manufacturing and sales of the new model will be carried out by Yamaha Motor's group company, IYM.

Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. Announces Release of the TRICITY

Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. announced on July 1 the Japan-market release of the TRICITY, the first in a series of vehicles that offer users new values through Yamaha's "Leaning Multi Wheel (L.M.W.)" mechanism. The TRICITY is one of several vehicles to incorporate Yamaha's ingenious Leaning-Multi-Wheel mechanism, which will embrace commuter vehicles and even sport utilities in the foreseeable future.
