In 2012, the company's subsidiary, Tracfone Wireless Inc., acquired 100% of the mobile virtual network business of Simple Mobile, Inc., which is a mobile virtual network operator (MVNOs) in the United States, with approximately 1.4 million subscribers. As of December 31, 2012, the company had approximately 22 million wireless subscribers, all of which were prepaid customers.
