In the U.S., the company is subject to: U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), which affects certain of the company’s Websites, mobile apps and other online business activities and restricts the collection, maintenance and use of persistent identifiers (such as IP addresses or device serial numbers), location information, images, recordings and other personal information regarding children; the Privacy and Security Rules under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, which imposes privacy and security requirements on the company’s health plans for its employees and on service providers under those plans; the Video Privacy Protection Act, which restricts disclosure of video viewing information; state statutes requiring notice to individuals when a data breach results in the release of personally identifiable information; and privacy and security rules imposed by the payment card industry, as well as regulations designed to protect against identity theft and fraud in connection with the collection of credit and debit card payments from consumers.
