BMO Financial Corp. (BFC) is based in Chicago and wholly-owned by the company. BFC operates primarily through its subsidiary BMO Harris Bank N.A., which provides banking, financing, investing, and cash management services in select markets in the U.S. Midwest. BMO provides a range of investment dealer services through entities, including BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., a major fully integrated Canadian investment dealer; and BMO Capital Markets Corp., the company’s wholly-owned registered securities dealer in the United States. Groups The company conducts business through three operating groups: Personal and Commercial Banking (P&C), made up of Canadian P&C and U.S. P&C; Wealth Management; and BMO Capital Markets. P&C Canadian P&C Canadian P&C operates across Canada, offering a range of products and services, including banking, lending and treasury management. Operating predominately in the U.S. Midwest under the BMO Harris brand, U.S. P&C offers P&C clients banking, lending, and treasury management products and services. The company serves approximately seven million P&C customers through an integrated national network of branches, automated banking machines, telephone, mobile and online banking. Personal Banking provides financial solutions for everyday banking, financing, investing, credit cards, and creditor insurance needs. Commercial Banking provides the company’s small business, medium-sized enterprise and mid-market banking customers with a suite of integrated commercial and capital markets products, as well as financial advisory services. Strategy: The company aims to succeed in the Canadian market by delivering a customer experience differentiated on guidance across all channels and by utilizing its highly productive distribution network. U.S. P&C The company’s retail and small and mid-sized business banking customers are served through its 621 branches, call centre, online and mobile banking platforms and approximately 1,300 ABMs across 8 states. The company delivers financial expertise to its commercial banking customers, offering specific industry knowledge and strategic capital markets solutions. Personal Banking offers a range of products and services to individuals, as well as small and mid-sized business customers, including deposits, mortgages, consumer credit, business lending, credit cards, and other banking services. Commercial Banking provides larger businesses with a range of banking products and services, including lending, deposits, treasury management, and risk management. Strategy: The company intends to grow its business by delivering a customer experience differentiated through guidance on a range of financial topics, and by leveraging its brand reputation, local presence, and high-performance teams. Wealth Management Wealth Management serves a range of client segments from mainstream to ultra-high net worth and institutional, with an offering of wealth management products and solutions, including insurance products.
