The company provides services to approximately 7,000 corporate and public sector customers. Its corporate customers operate in a range of sectors, including banking and financial services, manufacturing, logistics, pharmaceuticals, and consumer packaged goods. The company serves customers in the public sector in the U.K., including central government and local councils, as well as public sector organizations outside the U.K. The company provides transit and other wholesale services to global carriers internationally. The company operates domestic businesses in primary markets in the continental Europe, such as Italy, Germany, Benelux, France, and Spain, and has local network infrastructure, including high-speed fibre networks in 24 major European cities. It operates in 45 countries across the Middle East and Africa. In Latin America, it operates in 22 countries. In the U.S. and Canada, the company serves customers from offices in 35 primary cities. The company serves 18 countries in the Asia Pacific region, including India, China, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and Australia. The company is investing in high-growth regions, such as the Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa. BT RETAIL This segment serves its customers through four customer-facing divisions: BT Consumer; BT Business; BT Ireland, and BT Enterprises. BT Consumer This division provides voice and broadband services for retail consumers in Great Britain and it also has a pay-TV service, BT Vision. The company sells services under the BT brand, as well as the Plusnet brand to reach a range of customers. Its BT-branded services have a range of extra features that set them apart from competitors while Plusnet provides voice and broadband services for cost-conscious customers. BT Business This division supplies small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Great Britain with fixed calls and lines, broadband, mobility, and IT services, as well as data and voice networks. Specialist businesses within BT Business are as follows: BT iNet: A Cisco centre of specializing in infrastructure, security, and unified communications. BT Engage IT: Provides business-to-business IT equipment and services. BT Business Direct: An online store providing IT, computing, and networking equipment plus associated installation and support services. BT Ireland This division operates in northern Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland. In northern Ireland, the company operates the copper access network and provides communications services to consumers, SMEs, and the public sector. It is also rolling out fibre in partnership with the northern Ireland government through the Department of Enterprise, Trade, and Investment’s broadband project. In the Republic of Ireland, the company serves corporate and public sector customers, and provides wholesale network services to communications providers (CPs). BT Enterprises This division consists of six businesses: BT Conferencing: Provides audio, video, and Web conferencing and collaboration services for corporate customers in the U.K. and internationally. BT Directories: Provides directory enquiries (118500), operator, and emergency services. Marketing solutions business, including ‘The Phone Book’, Website design services and Web- based marketing services that help customers advertise their businesses online.
