In May 2010, BYD Company Ltd. and Daimler AG signed a contract creating a 50:50 research and technology joint venture called 'Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology Co. Ltd,' that would develop an electric vehicle for China. In May 2010, Daimler AG and Uzavtosanoat JSC signed an agreement for the establishment of a bus joint venture. The joint venture would assemble and sell coaches, intercity buses, city buses, and midibuses for the Uzbek market and for export to neighboring countries. In August 2010, Daimler AG is collaborating with GAZ Group. The collaboration is targeted at developing Mercedes-Benz E-Class cars. The vehicle is to be produced at the Gorky Automobile Plant in Nizhny Novgorod. In April 2010, Toray Industries Inc. announced that the company has signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) with Daimler AG to develop automobile parts made of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP). The two companies plan to promote the joint development of diverse CFRP automobile components by utilizing High Cycle Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), a CFRP molding process technology developed by Toray. In October 2010, Daimler AG and Beijing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. have laid the cornerstone for the Mercedes-Benz manufacturing facility, which is part of the new joint venture, Beijing Benz-DaimlerChrysler Automotive Co. Ltd. In December 2010, Daimler AG is reportedly collaborating with Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd. The collaboration is targeted at Aston Martin designing and producing a new ultra-luxury sedan. In April 2011, Daimler AG said it was granted a license from the Reserve Bank of India to set up a non-banking finance company for its financial services business in India. In June 2011, Daimler AG is planning to collaborate with Robert Bosch GmbH. The collaboration is targeted at producing batteries for electric and hybrid vehicles. In June 2011, Daimler AG (Daimler) announced that the company signed an agreement with Beijing Automotive Group (BAIC Group) to expand production scale in China. In September 2011, Beiqi Foton Motor Company Limited and Daimler AG jointly announced that their joint venture Beijing Foton Daimler Automobile Co. Ltd. got an official approval from the Ministry of Commerce of China. In October 2011, Audi AG, BMW Group, Daimler AG, Ford Motor Co., General Motors Company, Porsche Automobil Holding SE and Volkswagen AG have agreed on the combined charging system as an international standardized approach to charge electric vehicles (EV) in Europe and the United States. In November 2011, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. has collaborated with Daimler AG to develop a joint plant in Mexico. The facility will have a capacity to produce up to 200,000 units per annum for the United States market. In 2011, Mercedes-Benz has collaborated with Eurocopter Deutschland Gesellschaft Mit Beschränkter Haftung to develop its first-ever helicopter. In February 2012, Daimler AG inaugurated its 50-50 trucks joint venture with Chinese Beiqi Foton Motor. The joint venture would enable Daimler's commercial vehicle division to participate extensively in the Chinese market for medium- and heavy-duty trucks, which has doubled over the last five years to more than one million trucks. Daimler AG and Renault-Nissan B.V. are collaborating on two new projects to accelerate development of fuel-efficient power trains. The new engine project is a jointly developed 4-cylinder gasoline engine family co-led by Renault and Daimler. It targets a significant improvement in fuel economy as well as low emissions. In January 2013, Daimler AG and Nissan Motor Co.
