South America: Suriname—Rosebel Gold Mine The Rosebel property is located in Suriname, South America, approximately 80 kilometers south of the city of Paramaribo, the capital of Suriname. The Rosebel mining concession covers 17,000 hectares in the District of Brokopondo, between the Suriname River to the East and the Saramacca River to the West, and is surrounded by exploration concessions covering an additional surface area of 85,300 hectares. The property is held by Rosebel Gold Mine N.V., a 95%-owned subsidiary of the company. South America: French Guiana—Camp Caiman Project The Camp Caiman Project is located approximately 45 kilometers (directly by air) southeast of Cayenne, the capital city of French Guiana, an overseas department of France located on the northeastern coast of South America between Brazil and Suriname. French Guiana covers an area of 91,000 square kilometers. The property is held by IAMGOLD Guyane S.A.S., an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. Non-Gold Ferroniobium—Niobec Mine The Niobec Mine is an underground mine and is located on a 383.4 hectare surface property, consisted of 2 mining leases, which have been renewed until 2015 and 181 claims (totaling 82,010.9 hectares), 13 kilometers north of Chicoutimi, Québec. The Niobec property is held 100 percent by the company through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Niobec Inc. Diamond Royalty – Diavik Project The Lac de Gras Claims include the Diavik diamond property (the ‘Diavik Project’) in which Harry Winston Diamond Corporation owns a 40 percent interest and Diavik Diamond Mines Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Rio Tinto plc, owns a 60 percent interest. Markets The company’s niobium production is sold primarily to steel manufacturers in Asia, Europe, and North America. Acquisitions In 2012, the company completed the acquisition of Trelawney Mining and Exploration Inc. Dispositions In 2012, the company disposed of its approximately 47% interest in the Quimsacocha project in Ecuador to INV Metals Inc. Significant Events In November 2013, IAMGOLD Corp. announced that IAMGOLD and/or its subsidiary, Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. would fund the development and operation of a solar power project with an installed capacity of five five megawatts in Suriname. In March 2014, The Siribaya Gold Project is a 50/50 joint Merrex-IAMGOLD advanced-stage gold exploration project in West Mali. In March 2014, NTT DoCoMo, Inc., Rsupport Co., Ltd. and OrangeOne Corporation have signed a joint venture agreement to form mobidoors to sell customer care and other remote support solutions to mobile network operators and mobile phone manufacturers in the North America, Europe and Asia. History The company was founded in 1990. It was incorporated under the Canada Business Corporations Act with the name ‘IAMGOLD International African Mining Gold Corporation’ in 1990. In 1997, the company changed its name to IAMGOLD Corporation.
