Classic Media is involved in home entertainment sales, television and video licensing, licensing of intellectual property for sale or use (including consumer products, merchandise and live performances), and music publishing. Strategic Alliances The company has various strategic alliances with McDonald’s, Hewlett-Packard, Intel, Autodesk, Oracle, Polycom, and RedHat. In June 2013, Netflix, Inc. and DreamWorks Animation announced a multi-year deal making large Internet TV network the premiere home of new original series from the creators of global box-office hits including the Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon franchises. Joint Ventures and Investments In August 2012, the company entered into a transaction and contribution agreement with ODW Holdings Limited, China Media Capital (Shanghai) Center L.P., Shanghai Media Group, and Shanghai Alliance Investment Co., Ltd., providing for the launch of a joint venture. The purpose of the joint venture is to create a China-focused family entertainment company engaged in the acquisition, production, and distribution of original content originally produced, released or commercially exploited in the Chinese language.
