Foxtel’s channels are distributed to subscribers through both Telstra Corporation Limited’s hybrid fibrecoaxial cable network and a long-term contracted satellite platform provided by Optus. Foxtel offers limited versions of its services through broadband through Foxtel Play (an Internet television service), the Xbox platform, Telstra Corporation Limited’s T-Box platform, select Samsung televisions, various Virgin Australia aircraft, and mobile devices and tablets (including iPads and iPhones through Foxtel Go), as well as through the Internet to personal computers. Foxtel customers are also able to access their electronic programming guide through their tablet, mobile devices and personal computers to remotely record programming. Foxtel provides a 200-plus channel selection with content and a range of digital and mobile features that are not available to viewers on the FTA networks. Dispositions In September 2013, the company sold the Dow Jones Local Media Group, which operated 8 daily and 15 weekly newspapers in 7 states, to an affiliate of Fortress Investment Group.
