RadView Software Ltd. develops and markets software for testing the performance of Internet applications. The company’s software allows companies to accelerate the development and deployment of their Web applications and enables the implementation of their strategies involving their Websites. It also provides support and maintenance services to its installed base of customers. Products The company’s product line consists of: WebLOAD Professional Software that assures the performance of Web applications by simulating various users, extreme fluctuations in traffic, and the user demands placed on Web applications within an operating environment. Using WebLOAD Professional, customers create test scripts that simulate users’ interactions with Web applications. These scripts are written in JavaScript, the Web standard for application scripting. WebLOAD includes recorders that enable customers to generate scripts by copying interactions between a Web browser and a Web application. WebLOAD also enables users to create interactions using JavaScript and WebLOAD IDE - WebLOAD’s script authoring tools. WebLOAD could run multiple scripts that reflect different user interactions with the underlying application. WebLOAD Professional executes scripts for multiple simulated users, or virtual clients, on load generation machines, such as existing servers, which are centrally managed by the customer. The customer could schedule these virtual clients independently to simulate fluctuating user traffic patterns. Alternatively, a customer could use WebLOAD’s proprietary Cruise Control feature, which increases various virtual clients interacting with an application until that application fails to perform based on one or more customer-defined performance criteria. Cruise Control allows the company’s customers to determine the maximum user load their application could support while maintaining specified performance criteria. WebLOAD generates various virtual clients requiring less computer memory. WebLOAD generates approximately 75 different pre-defined statistical measurements, which are displayed to the user in real time. The company’s customers could also add various user-defined measurements and timers, as well as monitor the performance profile of the components within a customer’s Internet architecture. WebLOAD reports these data points on a per client and per transaction level, thus providing detailed information about the causes of any detected application failures during the simulation and allowing customers to address any performance issues. Customers could analyze this performance data and export it to third party formats, such as Microsoft Excel. WebLOAD Professional supports modern Web development technologies, such as Web 2.0, Ajax, Web Services, and SOA. WebLOAD also support Adobe Flex, RTSP/RTP, and other multimedia protocols, which are available for purchase from WebLOAD Professional, and added to it to increase its functionality. WebRM WebRM is an enterprise software management tool for WebLOAD that promotes the use of resources, facilitates collaboration, and enables increased productivity by allowing developers, quality assurance, and information technology staff to share the same testing resources throughout the application development life cycle. WebRM addresses the needs of companies to verify Web application quality and standardize their Web application performance solution across the application design, development, quality assurance, and information technology functions. It allows companies to share WebLOAD resources, so that a Web application’s architecture, design, implementation, and hardware environment could all be tested using the same technology at each step of the development life cycle. Companies using WebRM could therefore capitalize on WebLOAD’s integrated, standard-based approach to facilitate the delivery of Web applications. In 2012, the company launched WebLOAD Professional 9.0. Version 9.0 of WebLOAD introduces load testing from the Cloud, a new comparison view, improvements to both the validation and parameterization engines, new probing client reports, and usability and functionality improvements to the IDE, Console, and Analytics. Customers As of December 31, 2011, the company had licensed its software to approximately 3,000 organizations from all major industries, including Best Western International, Inc.; Georgia Institute of Technology; Morningstar Corporation; Symantec; the Monsanto Company; GoDaddy; Esure; and Barclaycard. Its customers include companies across a range of industries, including financial services, technology, retail, manufacturing, government, telecommunication, health care, and education. Its customers are located primarily in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Asia Pacific, and Israel. Sales and Marketing The company sells its products through a direct sales force and through channel partners. Its direct sales force consists of sales personnel and sales engineers located at its corporate headquarters in Israel, as well as an office in the United States. Its channel partners consist of testing services providers, Web system integrators, independent software vendors, and international distributors in Europe, Israel, and Asia. Strategy The company’s business strategy is to maintain and extend product leadership; develop and expand strategic relationships; utilize its installed customer base; and provide solutions that contribute to a low total cost of ownership. Research and Development The company’s research and development expenses were $0.9 million in 2011. Competition The company’s primary competitors include companies, which offer performance-testing software, such as Hewlett Packard (following their acquisition of Mercury Interactive); Micro Focus International (following their acquisitions of Borland Software Corporation and part of Compuware Corporation); IBM (following their acquisition of Rational Software Corporation); and Neotys. History RadView Software Ltd. was founded in 1991. The company was incorporated in Israel in 1991 as a private company pursuant to the Israeli Companies Ordinance, 1983.
