g the electrical changes between heartbeats, providing physicians insight into clinical events to help improve patient management. The company’s ICDs are used with the single and dual-shock electrode transvenous defibrillation leads. Its ICD lead offerings include the Durata SJ4 (FDA approval) and Durata high-voltage lead (FDA approval), which feature design changes from previous generations targeted to improve implant performance. The Durata leads, along with the Riata ST Optim leads (FDA approval), feature its Optim insulation material that combines the durability of polyurethane and the softness of silicone. Optim insulation has demonstrated a reduction in the incidence of insulation abrasion when compared to its previous silicone insulated leads. The company has Optim insulation available in all of its lead segments and has phased out its older silicone insulated leads in favor of the improved reliability of Optim insulated leads. The company’s portfolio of CRT leads includes the Quartet LV lead (FDA and European CE Mark approvals), as well as the smaller diameter lead, QuickFlex µ (micro) LV lead (FDA and European CE Mark approvals). Both the Quartet and QuickFlex µ are Optim insulated leads. For improved LV lead implantation, the company also offers its CPS Aim SL (FDA approval and European CE Mark) and CPS Direct SL II (FDA and European CE Mark approvals) slittable LV lead delivery tools designed to offer implantation procedures. The company also provides additional tools for the placement of LV leads, including the CPS Luminary, CPS Duo, CPS Courier guidewires, and the CPS Venture wire control catheter. The company’s pacemakers treat patients with hearts that beat too slowly, a condition known as bradycardia. Similar to ICDs, pacemakers are implanted underneath the collarbone, monitor heart rate, and when necessary, deliver low-voltage electrical impulses to stimulate an appropriate heartbeat. The company offers the AccentMRI pacemaker family in Europe and certain markets in Asia. The AccentMRI system features the AccentMRI pacemaker devices and the TendrilMRI lead with added filtering capabilities for safety during an MRI scan. In combination, the AccentMRI pacemaker and the TendrilMRI lead allow for a full-body MRI scan with no scan-zone or power restrictions. Additionally, the system includes the MRI activator to minimize changes in workflow prior to and immediately after an MRI scan. The company has initiated an Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) trial in the U.S. to further study the safety of the AccentMRI system to gain U.S. approval. The company received approval (FDA and European CE Mark approvals) of its Accent radio frequency (RF) pacemaker and Anthem RF CRT-P (CRT pacemaker). The Accent and Anthem product families feature RF telemetry that enables wireless communication between the implanted device and the programmer used by the clinician, allowing for device management. The company’s other pacing products include the Zephyr and Sustain family of pacemakers. The Zephyr family of pacemakers (FDA approval) includes automated features to simplify device follow-up. The Zephyr family of pacemakers includes functionality to reduce unnecessary ventricular pacing through its Ventricular Intrinsic Preference algorithm. The company received approval (FDA and European CE Mark approvals) for its Sustain family of value tier devices. The Sustain family models maintain the therapeutic features of the company’s previous pacemakers, including the AF Suppression algorithm and the Beat-by-Beat AutoCapture Pacing System. This family offers atrial tachycardia and AF arrhythmia diagnostics. The company also offers the Microny II SR+ and Microny K. These small-sized pacemakers are available worldwide. Its pacing leads include the Optisense Optim, Tendril ST Optim, Tendril STS Optim lead families, and the IsoFlex Optim, passive-fixation lead families, all available worldwide. The company’s Optisense leads offer an electrode spacing technology that has been clinically proven to reduce far-field over-sensing and inappropriate mode switching. The company’s CRM devices interact with an external device re
