It delivers its products through physical retail, digital download, online platforms, and cloud streaming services. Businesses Rockstar Games: Software titles published by the company’s Rockstar Games label are primarily internally developed. It expects Rockstar Games, its wholly-owned publisher of the Grand Theft Auto, Max Payne, Midnight Club, Red Dead, and other franchises, to continue to operate in the action/adventure product category and create groundbreaking entertainment by utilizing its existing titles, as well as developing new brands. Rockstar continues to expand on its established franchises by developing sequels, offering downloadable episodes and content, and releasing titles for smartphones and tablets. Rockstar is also known for developing brands in other genres, including the L.A. Noire, Bully, and Manhunt franchises. Rockstar has established an original cultural phenomenon with its Grand Theft Auto series, which is the interactive entertainment industry's iconic and critically acclaimed brand, and has sold-in approximately 185 million units. The new installment, Grand Theft Auto V, was released in 2013. Grand Theft Auto V includes access to Grand Theft Auto Online, which launched in 2013. 2K: The company’s 2K label has published various entertainment properties across various primary platforms and across a range of genres, including shooter, action, role-playing, strategy, sports, and family/casual entertainment. 2K's internally owned and developed shooter, action, role-playing, and strategy franchises include the critically acclaimed, multi-million unit selling BioShock, Mafia, Sid Meier's Civilization, and XCOM series. 2K also publishes externally developed franchises, such as Borderlands. 2K publishes a range of realistic sports simulation titles, including the company’s primary NBA 2K series, which has been the National Basketball Association (NBA) basketball video game for 13 years running and the WWE 2K series. The company develops majority of its sports simulation software titles through its internal development studios. 2K has secured long-term licensing agreements with the NBA. In addition, in 2013, 2K entered into a multi-year agreement with WWE to publish the WWE video game franchise worldwide. 2K also develops and publishes titles for the casual and family-friendly games market. Internally developed titles include Carnival Games and Let's Cheer!. 2K also had an agreement with Nickelodeon to publish video games. Throughout the year ended March 31, 2014, 2K released a slate of new titles designed for smartphones and tablets, including Haunted Hollow, Sid Meier's Ace Patrol for iOS, Beejumbled, Turd Birds, 2K Drive, and Sensei Wars. The company also has expansion initiatives in the Asia markets, where its strategy is to expand the distribution of its existing products, expand its business in Japan, and establish an online gaming presence, primarily in China and South Korea. 2K has secured a multi-year license from the NBA to develop an online version of the NBA simulation game in China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia. NBA 2K Online, the company’s free-to-play NBA simulation game co-developed by 2K and Tencent, launched commercially on the Tencent Games portal in China. In 2013, Pro Baseball 2K, its online baseball simulation game co-developed by 2K and Nexon Corporation, launched commercially in South Korea. In addition, South Korean-based studio XLGAMES is developing Civilization Online, a new online game for the Asian market.
