AUTOMOTIVE OPERATIONS This segment includes all activities relating to the development, design, manufacture, assembly, and sale of vehicles, including financing, as well as the sale of related parts and accessories. The company provides financing for vehicles sold by dealers in India. This segment is further divided into Tata and other brand vehicles (including spares and financing thereof) and Jaguar Land Rover. Products The company produces a range of automotive products, which are as follows: Passenger Cars: The company’s passenger cars include micro cars - the Tata Nano; compact cars-Indica, the Indica Vista, and Indigo eCS; and mid-sized cars - the Indigo Manza. It has expanded its car lines with variants and fuel options to suit various customer preferences. In 2011, the company launched the new Tata Nano. Jaguar has a presence in the premium car segment. During the period ended March 31, 2012, the company launched the Nano 2012, with various new features, including improved fuel efficiency which aided volume traction. Utility Vehicles: The company manufactures various utility vehicles, including the Sumo, and SUV, Tata Safari the lifestyle pickup, the Xenon XT and the newly launched premium crossover vehicle, the Aria, and the multipurpose utility vehicle (MPV), the Venture.
