Significant Events Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., has signed agreements with the Turkish government and key Turkish aerospace contractors that license Turkey's aerospace industry to manufacture 109 T-70 helicopters (Turkish variants of Sikorsky's S-70i International BLACK HAWK helicopter) for operation by the Turkish Government, and to assemble 109 S-70i helicopters for Sikorsky. Sikorsky signed Black Hawk helicopter licensing, manufacturing agreements with Turkey on 5 March 2014. In April 2014, UTC Aerospace Systems and AVIC Electromechanical Company Ltd. reported they have opened their joint venture facility: Xi'an AVIC Hamilton Sundstrand Aviation Electric Co., Ltd. located within the Xi'an Hi-tech Industries Development Zone. The joint venture was formed to develop and manufacture the electric power system for the new C919 jetliner, built by Commercial Aviation Corp. of China. AUAE is a 50-50 joint venture established by UTC Aerospace Systems' Hamilton Sundstrand Holdings Inc. and AVIC EM's subsidiary Shaanxi Aero Electric Co., Ltd. to develop and manufacture electric power systems for COMAC's C919, as well as supply UTC Aerospace Systems equipment for the international market. In April 2014, Governor Dannel P. Malloy today hailed the Connecticut House of Representatives' bipartisan passage of a bill that supports an agreement the Governor reached last month with United Technologies Corporation (UTC) under which the company will invest up to $500 million to upgrade and expand its aerospace research and development and manufacturing facilities over the next five years. In April 2014, State Senator Joseph J. Crisco, Jr. (D-Woodbridge) spoke on the Senate floor in support of legislation formalizing an agreement between the State of Connecticut and United Technologies Corporation (UTC) under which the company will invest up to $500 million to upgrade and expand its aerospace research, development and manufacturing facilities in Connecticut over the next five years. In May 2014, The U.S. Navy today announced that Sikorsky Aircraft, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corp., has been selected to build the next fleet of Marine One helicopters for the Office of the President.
