CONSUMER PRODUCTS This segment’s revenues consist principally of sales of WWE produced home entertainment (DVD/Blu-ray), magazine publishing and royalties or license fees related to various WWE themed products, such as video games, toys and apparel. Licensing The company has established a worldwide licensing program using its marks and logos, copyrighted works and characters on various retail products, including toys, video games, apparel and books. The company has relationships with approximately 150 licensees worldwide that provide products for sale at major retailers. The company has a comprehensive, multi-year licensing agreement with Mattel, Inc. its master toy licensee, covering all global territories. In 2013, the company entered into an agreement with The Bridge Direct to develop and distribute products in the construction category, a segment of the toy category. In 2013, the company entered into a new multi-year agreement with Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (Take-Two) to publish future video games. The company composes and records most of its music, including its Superstar entrance themes, in its recording studio. In addition to its own composed music, the company licenses music performed by popular artists. Music links the WWE brand to all media platforms, including television, film, radio, video games, live events and other emerging digital technologies. Home Entertainment WWE distributes its original content as home entertainment releases in both physical (DVD and Blu-ray) and digital formats. Cinedigm, the major aggregator and distributor of independent content, distributes WWE’s home entertainment in the U.S., where titles are generally sold to retailers, such as Wal-Mart and Best Buy as well as to subscription and transactional on-demand services, such as iTunes, Amazon, Netflix and others. Outside the United States, third-party licensees distribute the company’s home entertainment releases. In 2013, the company released 28 new home video productions globally and, in the U.S., shipped approximately 4.0 million DVD and Blu-ray units, including catalog titles released in prior years. Magazine Publishing The magazine division of WWE publishes WWE Magazine, WWE Kids magazine and several special magazines. The primary title, WWE Magazine, is a global men’s lifestyle publication with licensed editions in the United Kingdom and Turkey among other countries. Every issue is filled with features, photos, exclusive interviews and access that fans will not see on television. In the US, WWE Magazine reaches approximately 4.6 million readers every month. The company’s WWE Kids magazine was launched in 2008 and published 10 issues in 2013. WWE Kids also has licensed editions in the United Kingdom, Germany and Turkey. DIGITAL MEDIA This segment’s revenues consist principally of advertising sales on its Websites, rights fees received for digital content, sale of merchandise on its Website through its WWEShop Internet storefront and sales of various broadband and mobile content. WWE.com WWE utilizes the Internet to promote the company’s brands, create a community experience among its fans, market and distribute its online content and digital products and sell online advertising.
