Brookdale Senior Living Inc. (NYSE:BKD) entered into an agreement to acquire seven seniors living communities from Chartwell Retirement Residences (TSX:CSH.UN) for $80.9 million on May 15, 2013. The purchase price for the portfolio will be $80.9 million and will be partially settled through the assumption by Brookdale of mortgage debt secured by the portfolio with an outstanding balance of approximately $60.6 million as of the date of this release.
