The shareholders of Imperial Tobacco Group plc (LSE:IMT) authorized a share repurchase program at its Annual General Meeting on January 30, 2013. Under the program, the company will repurchase up to 106,794,000 shares, representing 10.83% of its issued capital. The minimum price which may be paid per ordinary share will be £0.10. The maximum price which may be paid for any ordinary share is the higher of the amount equal to 105% of the average of the middle market prices ... shown in the quotations for the ordinary shares in the London Stock Exchange Daily Official List for the five business days immediately preceding the day on which the ordinary share is purchased and the amount stipulated by article 5(1) of the Buy-back and Stabilisation Regulations 2003 (in each case exclusive of all expenses). The program will expire at the conclusion of the next Annual General Meeting or on March 31, 2014, whichever is earlier, unless previously renewed, varied or revoked by the company in a general meeting. As of December 6, 2012, the company had 1,067,942,881 shares in issue and 81,623,132 shares in treasury. On March 28, 2013, the company has announced that it has instructed Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited, to commence a non-discretionary program to repurchase its own ordinary shares during its close period which commences on April 1, 2013 and ends on April 30, 2013. Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited acted as broker to the company. As of MArch 31, 2013, the company has repurchased 5,075,000 shares, representing 0.51% for £119.20 million.
