An investor group based out of Seattle led by Christopher Hansen and Steve Ballmer, Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft, and Nordstrom Inc. (NYSE:JWN) entered into a binding agreement to acquire 65% stake in Sacramento Kings Limited Partnership, LP from Maloof Sports & Entertainment, Inc. and other shareholders for approximately $340 million on January 21, 2013. Sacramento Kings Limited Partnership, LP will be renamed as SuperSonics. As on March 27, 2013, one of the ... billionaires who aer buying the Maloof family's majority ownership of the Sacramento Kings now is adding a 7% share in the team. As of April 12, 2013, the investor group revised the agreement by increasing purchase price by $25 million. The deal is subject to approval by the NBA Board of Governors. As on May 1, 2013, an NBA relocation committee had unanimously recommended denying the Sacramento Kings' bid to relocate to Seattle. The transaction is expected to close in mid of April, 2013. As of April 12, 2013, the investor group revised the agreement by increasing purchase price by $75 million. NBA owners are scheduled to vote on the transaction and relocation on May 15, 2013.
