Onex Corporation (TSX:OCX) filed a Notice of Intention and received approval from the Toronto Stock Exchange to commence a normal course issuer bid on April 12, 2013. Under the bid, Onex will repurchase up to 8,874,849 Subordinate Voting shares, representing 10% of its outstanding public float and 7.78% of its issued Subordinate Voting shares. The repurchases will be effected through the facilities of the TSX. Repurchased shares will be cancelled. Onex may purchase up ... to 32,914 Subordinate Voting shares during any trading day, being 25% of its average daily trading volume of 131,656 Subordinate Voting shares for the most recently completed six calendar months. Onex may also purchase Subordinate Voting Shares from time to time under the Exchange's block purchase exemption, if available. The bid is being renewed as it is Onex' view that it is advantageous to the company and its shareholders to continue to engage in repurchases of Subordinate Voting shares, from time to time, when they are trading at prices which reflect a discount from their value as perceived by Onex. The repurchases may be made from time to time during the next 12 months. The bid will commence on April 16, 2013 and will conclude on the earlier of the date on which repurchases have been completed or April 15, 2014. As of March 31, 2013, Onex had 113,952,935 Subordinate Voting shares issued and outstanding and had 88,748,496 shares in the public float. As of April 30, 2013, the company has made no repurchases.

An unknown buyer signed an agreement to acquire 50% in RSI Home Products, Inc. from Onex Partners II, L.P. , fund of Onex Corporation (TSX:OCX) and its affiliates for approximately $320 million on February 11, 2013. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions, including a financing condition for the benefit of RSI. The transaction is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2013.
